Mornings in the Crossroads Residential program begin at 7:00 a.m. with a healthy breakfast. This and all meals and snacks are prepared in conjunction with our certified nutritionist and are served throughout the day.
In Crossroads Residential, each day begins and ends with brief opening/closing meetings where residents discuss recovery-related goals and intentions.
Clients also participate in psychoeducational group therapy sessions which follow the program’s educational modules: The Disease Concept of Addiction; Managing Thoughts, Feelings and Behaviors; Healthy Relationships; Recovery Maintenance; and Living a Balanced Lifestyle. These sessions include structured groups where clients express feelings and discuss communication through recovery readings and journaling exercises. Homework is often assigned during this group and reviewed later in the day.
Throughout the week, Crossroads Residential clients also benefit from pet therapy, art therapy, therapeutic music sessions, and equine-facilitated psychotherapy.
Time is also available each week to meet with a Crossroads Residential clinician for individual therapy and to address individualized treatment issues as needed.
Exercise and wellness are important components to a new, healthy life in recovery so there is time built into each day for walking around the beautiful, eight-acre campus or participating in yoga or Tai Chi classes, as well participating in wellness groups that focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle outside of treatment. Twice a week, Residential clients participate in offsite yoga at our yoga partner Bala Vinyasa Yoga’s studio.
Structured recreation and leisure time is also built into the daily Residential schedule for several hours each day. During this time, clients enjoy games such as ping pong, basketball and card games, lifting weights, swimming in our onsite pool, reading, watching television and quiet time for meditation, homework or enjoying the serenity garden.
After dinner, an early evening educational group allows for time to review and complete the homework assigned from daily psychoeducational modules.
In the evenings, Crossroads residents attend 12-step meetings with members of the local recovery community, which include members of the David Lawrence Center Alumni Association. Many of these meetings are held offsite in the greater Naples area. Meetings with these community members help engage, encourage and welcome Crossroads Residential clients into the recovery community and continue to provide a resource for clients after their discharge.
At Crossroads, we realize that family and friends can be an important motivation and support system while you are in treatment, and time is provided each day to call your loved ones. General visitation is held on Sundays.
Throughout your program, the Crossroads staff is available to assist and support you twenty-four hours a day as you participate in these activities and move towards life-changing wellness and life-lasting recovery.
